Use portals to be #1 at basketball

Two guys wanna play basketball is the geekiest way possible. How do they do this? Using portals, of course. Just create some holes around you like crazy and then simply through the ball in them. Hit the score like it’s nobody’s business.

The crazy FX are done by Corridor Digital and these guys have gathered over 3M fans on YouTube. And you know why: because they did some crazy and great short videos out there.

PC gaming: 3 GTX 970s vs 2 GTX 980s and what is M.2

Linus tested 3 GTX 970s vs 2 GTX 980s and found out that it is better to use 2 GTX 980s. Why? Because you won’t need to consume that much power with only 2 cards instead of 3 and the cards will not heat as crazy. Using three cards in SLI mode will result in the card that is positioned at the middle to heat up unnecessarily and make a ton of noise in return.

If you really have the money to spend buy one good, premium graphics card. The GTX 980 costs about $550 and the GTX 970 costs $330. Both use GDDR5, have 4 GB of VRAM but the processor clock speed vary and also the CUDA processors.

All in all, the GTX 970 seems to be the better option cost-wise.

Now, let’s learn about the M.2 the port on the motherboard where you can insert your M.2 SSD. Newer SSD can be inserted in the M.2 slot and you will have a ton of connection speed because of this. You will not need any wires to connect this SSD to the motherboard so you got some increased write/read speeds.

Watch these incredible animated optical illusions by Brusspup

Brusspup is the master of optical illusions on YouTube. Many videos will show you how the brain is tricked in numerous ways.

In this case you can see how two sliding sheets will generate the illusion of movement. Much the same as with early cartoons where you saw a ton of still images on a drum and, when moved fast enough, you would see some movement.

You can also have those sliding images at home. To download and print them check the video description from here.

Realistic fears – halloween rap by Coma Niddy

I like this guy. Coma Niddy creates great science videos and also science rap music. He is one of a kind and I like that he tries to paint science in batter lights, he tries to get it to the masses through music.

Have fun with his newest rap, the realistic fears, Halloween version.

Pogo has a new mix: Psycho Soup to celebrate the release of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

I’ve played Borderlands the first game and it was something new. Of course, it may seem like a crazy thing to have hundreds of weapons and upgrades, but you can manage this in the first few hours of gameplay. Borderlands is still a great game and it does not violate your brain visually. I found it relaxing playng this game.

Now, Pogo, the guy that makes a ton of great music video mixes, has created the Psycho Soup, a mix with pieces from Borderlands. Two great things in one package. Yay.

Star Wars racing in 2014 using drones. That is cool.

On a race training track near Annecy, Frace, a couple of drone enthusiasts have replicates a Star Wars like chace with their drones. The result is pretty darn spectacular. If George Lucas would have had drones in the 70s he would have created a much great movie.

Quirkology: 10 new tricks to keep your friends in awe

Quirkology has nice tricks to teach us. We can make the day way better if we learn those tricks. For example if you use only one thumbtack you can blow up a balloon, but if you put around 20 thumbtacks near each other and then a balloon on top of them, the balloon won’t pop.

Another fun trick is to lift the table using a glass, a piece of paper and then water, plus a light match. Simple as that!

LOL. Coma Niddy parody: all about that space

Coma Niddy creates nice science rap music. He doesn’t always get the best of the rap out there, but he may be one of the guys that will be big in the science music industry. All about that bass is a parody of Meghan Trainor’s song All About That Bass. Neat!
