Stunning time lapse – Triple Americano

Triple Americano from Preston Kanak on Vimeo.

Preston Kanak did this stunning time lapse video in Saskatchewan, Canada and Austin, Texas collaborating on this with other filmmakers. Named Triple Americano this video uses as soundtrack Midnight City from M83. A time lapse movie can be good but with proper sound can be damn good. Of course, there’s been some nice editing, but all in all a great piece that deserves a price.

Preston Kanak used a Canon 5D Mark II camera and obtained controlled movements of the camera by using the Kessler Crane Cineslider and Oracle system. You see movements in at least two direction. Twice the fun and it’s on repeat for the last hour. Simply awesome.. Via [Slowmotion & Timelapse Theater].

Huge railway model is HUGE

Miniatur Wunderland is located in Hamburg, Germany, and it’s the largest model railway there is. On an area bigger than 13000 square meters a few thousand cars, trains, ships and airplanes simulate one of the most complex railway system in the world. For 12 euros you can get a pass into this huge playground. Guess, I’ll have to take that into account in my next eurotrip.

More details can be found here. Via [One Cool Thing A Day].

Oh, no, Skyrim is going to get me -The Dragonborn Comes bard song

Believe me. I like to play, but I try to stay as far away form Skyrim. I need to work guys and if I’ll start playing there’s no telling what will happen. And now… Malufenix sung the Draogonborn comes bard song and she got me on the brink of wanting to install the game. I… must… resist.

Well, she sings pretty well and and cuteness is something I didn’t accounted for when I was thinking about Skyrim, this awesome pc game. The song is on repeat for 20 minutes now and can’t get bored. I remember the days of Gothic III, when I was playing like mad and even finished the game three times. Let’s sing the bard song. Really nice. Via [Geeksaresexy].

Get the stars on the stage with Lighting Choreographer concept

Lighting Choreographer – concept and system description – from drpopeye on Vimeo.

Here, at TGT, I love to post creative and interesting things. Like the concept of Lighting Choreographer, where the dancers have LEDs on their clothes and they sync their dancing with the light show.

This concept is trully amazing because it combines perfectly dancing, creativity and tech. Most interestingly, a light DJ can connect wirelessly to the lights that are on the dancers and choose patterns, speeds of blinking and also colors using an intuitive UI. Feeling the magic of tech. I certainly do. Via [Tech Art].

JP Auclair Street Segment (from All.I.Can.) from Sherpas Cinema on Vimeo.

Sherpas Cinema has done a very nice footage of a skier doing extreme street ski. Noticed the sparkles when it lands on the asphalt? This video is in fact a teaser for their award-winning 70min film, “All.I.Can”.

All.I.Can is a movie about comparing big mountain skiing with the global climate change. Shot on 6 continents “the worldโ€™s best skiers deliver inspirational performances”. Seeing from the video above I must believe that the movie is awesome. Expect to see some more street skiers somewhere near you. Via [One Cool Thing A Day].

Math is weird – The Hairy Ball Theorem explained by Minute Physics [video]

Minute Physics shows us what happens if mathematicians have too much time on their hands. They’ve demonstrated that you cannot comb a ball of hair. Never, ever. It will always have a place where a hair sticks out. That is why I cannot get my hair to sit the way I want ๐Ÿ˜€ The Hairy Ball Theorem explains why somewhere on Earth, at any time, there is a place where the wind doesn’t blow. Interesting, huh?
