Now, that’s how you promote science, bitches: Ambition, the movie

Ambition is a collaboration between Platige Image and ESA. Directed by Tomek Bagiński and starring Aiden Gillen and Aisling Franciosi. Ambition was shot on location in Iceland, and screened on 24 October 2014 during the British Film Institute’s celebration of Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder, at the Southbank, London.

Ambition is a movie created to promote the Rosetta mission of ESA, a mission that will land a probe on the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gherasimenko, on Nov 12th @ 16:00 GMT/17:00 CET.

The lander, called Philae, will check for signs of organic molecules like amino-acids to help scientists find an answer to the question: could’ve comets from the early Solar System brought in organic material that has generated life here, on Earth?

Maybe we will never know, or maybe yes. Rosetta will bring us closer to an answer.
