What is the difference between anti-virus and anti-malware

As Linus, from TechQuickie, put it: both work int he same way as they fight viruses, but its the time scale they work on that matters. The antivirus deals with known threats and will update every once in a while while the dedicated anti-malware software, like MalwareBytes, will handle the immediate thread, the zero day vulnerabilities sometimes days or week before an antivirus is able to do this work.

So, anti-malware is faster, but anti-virus is great to be used as a continuous shield against old, known viruses. You would need to use both types of software in your computer.
