Metal in microwave? Yes and no

The general rule is to not insert any metal parts in the microwave oven as they heat up and they can cause serious damage to the device. The device itself is created using metal: the cage, the strips on the door window, the wave guide and so on.

The most important thing to know is that if you insert objects with edges then you will see some sparks in there. If those objects are of metal, then those sparks will be way bigger. And if you insert only metal then it will heat up like crazy, but it will not always destroy the oven.

In any case, best is to not have metal in the microwave oven, even tough it is not that dangerous.
