Star Wars Documentary: From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga (Part 6 of 9)

Part 6 of the Star Wars documentary presents us the visual speeds and the themes of the saga. As you might remember, the action in Star Wars, especially the space battles, are happening at a very big speed. George Lucas has to think of ideas on how to create these good looking high speeds by working with stop motion action figures, blue screens and some editing done afterwards.

The effects were stunning for the 70’s and even today there are movies with special effects way below Star Wars. As you might know the timeline of releases for Star Wars is like this:
Star Wars Episode IV – 1977
Star Wars Episode V – 1990
Star Wars Episode VI – 1983
Star Wars Episode I – 1999
Star Wars Episode II – 2002
Star Wars Episode IV – 2005
And Episode VII will be released in December 2015.

Even in a world full of technology, Star Wars wanted to bring forth the human side, but also the mythological side too. In the most important moments of Luke, his spirit saved him, mot technology.

Interesting how Star Wars is about civilization and not about technology, something that many do not understand.
