The science of sunscreen [infographic]

The good guys at Compound Chem have created the infographic from below in regards to the sunscreen, what type of UV radiation they protect us from and what chemical compounds are used.

The sunscreens offer protection against UVA radiation, 95% or the total UV radiation with 320-400 nm wavelength, and UVB radiation, about 5% of the total UV radiation with wavelengths of 290 – 320 nm. In EU about 28 chemical compounds are used in the sunscreen and among them: titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, avobenzone, ecamsule, homosalate, oxybenzone.
