Sealing gunshot wounds in seconds with special sponges

CNN found out about xStat, an injectable sponge that seals gunshot wounds in a matter of seconds. The demos show that in about 3-5 seconds those sponges absorb the liquid and become quite large. Using such sponges in a human body raises some risks and the guys at RevMedx will face some challenges before getting this into the wild.

Andrew Barofsky, CEO RevMedx, says that applying the sponges to a wound is easy and it solves the issue of bleeding pretty fast. xStat also compresses the wound so that the medic won’t have to. I do have a question: how to you insert those ginormous sponges into a bullet wound? Do they have smaller sponges or what?
