What’s more important than resolution? Color depth! Here is why.

Tech Quickie, in the person of Linus Sebastian, explains that color depth ( or lack thereof) is often the culprit when you find distracting visual anomalies in video content, but because resolution gets marketed so heavily we are mislead into buying the wrong devices. Higher bitrates and better color depth should be also our focus.

In order to have a great image you need a big resolution screen and a big enough color palette that will give the image sharpness. Now we can understand why resolution is not everything and that we also need color depth to show great, crisp images.
