so, here are some word origins for those who love English that much that they want to learn some history too>
– muscle – from “little mouse”, in Latin
– mortgage – “death pledge”, in French
– apprehend – “aprendere”, to grasp, Latin
– denim – from “serge de Nimes” or “fabric of Nimes”, French
– jeans – named after Genoa, Italy, place of origin
– worm – form Old English where it meant serpent or dragon
