See how ground resonance at work destroys an helicopter

Ground resonance is basically an out of control vibration in helicopters that is amplified once the helicopter experiencing this issue touches the ground. Reactive forces move back and forth from the rotor, through the lading gear and then into the earth and then back. The result? A destroyed helicopter, although it had no obvious flaws.

How do you save the day? Simply get back in the air. In the absence of the reactive forces that come from the earth you get back on track. Be safe. Via [Presurfer].

Below is another example of ground resonance. This time we look at an experiment done on a Chinook CH-47. Once, again, life beats movies.
