Called a “research project on immersive tele-collaboration using a Parasitic Humanoid system” this augmented reality guidance system uses AR tech to teach people new skills. The system includes a computer, a camera and a special screen which superimposes images of moves made by a teacher over the actual image that the trainee sees.
AR tech is not new, but using it this way is very helpful when the two are at various distances and can’t communicate through normal ways. AIST has come up with this idea and I think that it will become sooner than later a viable commercial product. I would use this to teach some people what drag&drop means. No kidding, there are still a lot of people who do not know what that is.
What would you use it for? News came from [DigInfo TV].
